Staying Stress Free during the Holidays

The Holidays are a wonderful and busy time of the year, friends, family, holiday parties and so much more...

During this time of the year, it's important to take time for yourself.
Finding ways to stay stress free will help you go through the season and make for a joyful time.
  • Meditation: take some time for yourself everyday. Find a quite space and time at least once a day for 10-15min. You may find that guided, mindfulness, mantra or clearing the mind meditation works for you. Explore and find the one that connects to you.
  • Healthy Eating: As we enjoy our holiday parties, food, wine, many tempting treats make sure your are getting some healthy alternatives in. Check in, make sure you are eating balanced meals and plenty of fluids to keep the body nourished during this time of the year.
  • Enjoy a nice cup of tea or hot cocoa and just sit back and enjoy.Herbal teas can be nourishing, healing and calming, find the tea that speaks to you (I go towards my meditation tea during this time if year). I love a good hot cocoa, I enjoy creating and sipping chocolate and adding herbs, yes I add herbs to my hot cocoa. When I have time to relax with a cozy hot cocoa I have two blends that I pick from, one is a heart balancing cocoa with rose and hawthorn and the other is an immune boaster (perfect for this time of the year.

#02 Self-Care

Do something nice for yourself. Sounds easy, right. How often have you given a friend, co-worker or partner some good advise, to only not follow it yourself? It just had this happen this week. My client came in, we were talking about self-care, I had suggested that she take some time and do something nice for herself. The next afternoon, I had a client come in for a massage, when I asked her what brought her in, she said," My body was telling me this is what it needed". She took the time to listen to herself. It seems so simple. I do my mediation, and do my herbals, for me its keeping up with my yoga and doing the gentle pampering s of taking time that I forget. So for me, it was a foot scrub! I am either on my feet or using  my feet in my Thai yoga massage, and they sometimes yell for a nice foot scrub. So that's just what I did, a nice eucalyptus sugar scrub followed up with a tea tree lotion bar. My feet have been saying thank you all day. So...

Living in the Now

Living in the now How do we live in the now? Being right where we are, right now.   Allowing our-self to be in the now, living your space. Live life as beautiful and peaceful as you can, right now.   We suffer as we stay stuck in our past and in fear of what may be as we look at our future, but not living now.    Living now, present to be fully in our space, in our bodies in our life. This gives us peace, and joy in understanding that we live now, and allowing the past to be what was, and the future to be what will, and now is.   Living in the now also allows the body to let go of holding patterns. The body is a vessel, holding our past through emotions, these can be powerful in both positive and negative. When we live in the now we give the body permission to create space. Space in the body gives room to silence, allowing inner stress to shift, to soften.   Being present in the here and now, give your self time to be just where y...

Take time for Peace

This is a very busy time of the year for most of us. Family, friends work parties, busy schedules and not enough time for everything! Most of us go though a feeling of some stress during this time of the year. Lets refocus, and find a space that we can breath, relax and find some peace during this time of the year. One of the ways that I like to find peace in this time of the year is to step back and look at things from a new light. Everything in our life moves so fast, taking a few minutes to just look at the big picture, take a breath, we all do the best we can. This is the same, you may not make every holiday party, or have every gift that you wanted to give, but you have your self, your family. This is for me a simple way to breath in, breath out and be thankful,at peace. Being peaceful in the your space, in your presence will give a vibe that carries out past you to others, being a part of peace on earth. Wishing you peace on earth this season.
