Welcome in the New Year

2014 was a great start for Metta Wellness, thank you for welcoming me into your space! We went through some changes this past year and you shared in my learning as I worked with my herbs and Essential Oils as I have slowly brought them into our space to share with you and your families.

Now a new year starts, a time of many possibilities and forward movement, Welcome in the New Year! This year will continue to bring change to Metta Wellness, such as:
I will continue my Herbal Journey with a focus on pulse diagnose, bringing this to full circle at Metta Wellness in late spring early summer. This will allow me to work with my clients on a focused long or short term goal using massage, personalized oils and teas, along with some tinctures and at home goals to help with an overall holistic balance.
I will introduce a great head and scalp stimulating massage this year. This one has come by great request, and over time I have worked on the massage, and I am now waiting for my herbs to be ready for my own herbal hair oil, using herbs from both western and an Ayurvedic background. I have found many women dealing with stress, and thinning hair, this treatment is designed to help stimulate the scalp and calm the mind. Oils will be available for purchase in store or online later this year.
I will once again be teaching my Essential oils for the Doshas Class. Many of you that stopped by in December left with a dosha oil sample or the flu bomb oil sample, now you can take the class and create your own or purchase oil bombs  in store or online later this year.
Each month we will focus on ways to bring balance through massage, herbs , tips and recipes to help create an overall holistic space through a  mind, body spirit connection.
This is going to be a great year with a strong focus on holistic balance, I hope you join me this year on this journey.

Take time for Peace

This is a very busy time of the year for most of us. Family, friends work parties, busy schedules and not enough time for everything! Most of us go though a feeling of some stress during this time of the year. Lets refocus, and find a space that we can breath, relax and find some peace during this time of the year. One of the ways that I like to find peace in this time of the year is to step back and look at things from a new light. Everything in our life moves so fast, taking a few minutes to just look at the big picture, take a breath, we all do the best we can. This is the same, you may not make every holiday party, or have every gift that you wanted to give, but you have your self, your family. This is for me a simple way to breath in, breath out and be thankful,at peace. Being peaceful in the your space, in your presence will give a vibe that carries out past you to others, being a part of peace on earth. Wishing you peace on earth this season.

Ayurveda, lets dive deeper

So what is Ayurveda? I get this question a lot, or I hear - Ayurveda is to complicated. Yes, Ayurveda can be complicated, but I don't feel it should be and doesn't have to be. Lets dive into Ayurveda. First, how did I get to Ayurveda, lets go back a little ways. In 2006, I started my training at the Maharishi Ayurveda Center in Lancaster, MA. I had just finished a program at Dana Farber with Energy work and massage for cancer clients, when I started the training at the Ayurvedic center. The similarities between the two made for the perfect transition. Both looked at the importance of balance, digestion, proper sleep and the positive outlook of the emotions. As I dove into Ayurveda it was clear that being in balance with yourself and your environment effected every element of health. This was the beginning of a path in a  holistic lifestyle. Ayurveda, lets dive deeper. Ayurveda is one of the oldest known healing systems dating back thousands of years to India. This sy...
